Job Description

Database Developer / Administrator who will work in a team with developers and Lead DBA. The position will fulfill an integral role in supporting and maintaining all RSNA databases. The successful candidate will work with the developers in the IT Development department as well as working with staff in the Information Management department. This position is primarily responsible for development and maintenance of all the databases, turning, writing queries and reports, maintaining data integrity, and maintaining documentation. In order to fulfill this, the candidate needs to collaborate with software developers to achieve the best solutions and to optimize code and processes

  Writing complex SQL queries, views, stored procedures, triggers, jobs, and functions.
  Develop, maintain and administer ETL jobs using SSIS package.
Work in partnership with Lead DBA to manage production and operational databases.
   Review SQL code and recommend optimizations while enforcing best practices.
   Recommend table index and stored procedure changes bases on usage patterns.
   Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
   Develop scripts and processes to automate tasks.
   Provide technical support and guidance to the developers and report writers regarding proper database setup and usage.
   Responsible for identifying, resolving and documenting any database issues.
Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to implementation, performance tuning, ongoing maintenance, replication, backup/recovery, security, auditing, production support and migration.
   Tune, monitor, configure and upgrade databases as needed.
   Assist with user acceptance testing and implementing new database functionality, in the AMS or other systems.
   Maintain data integrity in all databases.
   Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for all databases.
   Ensure SQL agent jobs, scheduled tasks, ETL processes and services run successfully.
Support of production systems for database problem resolution and recovery as well as assistance with production applications, including Emergency support.

Must have 2+ years of working knowledge and abilities with Microsoft SQL server, including tuning, referential integrity, backups, DTS, scheduled jobs, and reporting.
  Bachelor's in computer science. 3 -4 years in database development / T-SQL coding experience.
  1 -2 years of SSIS packages development.
